Waterman's Ideal striated gold color lever fill fountain pen w/ 14K nib, AS-IS

Description: Offered here "as-is" for repair, refurbishment, or parts is a vintage Waterman's Ideal striated gold color lever- fill fountain pen with 14K gold nib. Nib imprint reads "Watermans Ideal 14K." Nib is not otherwise stamped or marked. Please note that while nib appears good and right in most photos, under 10X loupe magnification nib can be seen to carry a defect. The side of the nib that "springs up" when put to paper is about 100 microns longer than the other side that remains down and flat. Put differently, the one side of the nib is broken off the least bit. See the last 3 nib photos. This pen features a lever fill. Fill lever does NOT operate and seller has NOT removed or attempted to remove nib to open ink compartment. Pen undoubtedly needs interior cleaning and a new ink sac/bladder. Barrel and cap outer surfaces are clean and smooth. Both have very nearly flat ends/tops. Cap screws to barrel. The clear barrel imprint reads "Waterman's Ideal, Reg. U.S. Pat. Off., Made in the United States of America." Pocket clip reads "Watermans." Condition of the lever fill lever and of the clip gold plating is bright and very good. Pen is 5" inches long capped closed, 6 1/8" inches long as capped/posted to write. Pen is clean, with no cracks, chips, teeth marks, or personal engravings to either barrel or cap. Blue ink was the last ink color used, and it has largely been rinsed from nib. Pen may perhaps show very light usage wear to barrel and cap, and because of its nib defect, is of course offered "as-is."
