The 12 oz. stoneware mugs feature a multicolor checkered pattern and each mug portrays a different character: Santa, a teddy bear, a snowman, and a girl holding a globe. Each plate features one of these characters as well. (See the photos!) We received these as a gift and we had our own family heirlooms we use during the holidays - so these were never used. The boxes were opened once in 2000 to look at the dishes and mugs, They remained closed until just recently so I could take the photographs.
