Description: You are bidding on a vintage/antique fiddleback funeral chasuble vestment made of black velvet with orphreys of black and silver silk fabric. The back orphrey features the IHS symbol for Jesus, surrounded by a floral pattern. The front orphrey has images of grapes, wheat and a crown of thorns. The chasuble is trimmed in silver metallic banding. It is lined in plain grey-brown fabric over a heavy stiff buckram fabric. The chasuble measures 46 inches from the top of the shoulder to the lower back hem and 26.25 inches wide across the back. The black velvet and the silk of the back orphrey are in good condition with minimal rubbing wear. The front orphrey silk has rubbing wear, tears/separation of threads, and replaced panels.
