Description: Vintage 1940s Shawnee Pottery 'Puss n Boots' cat shaped cookie jar, creamer, salt & pepper set. The cookie jar stands about 10.25" tall x 7.25" wide and is marked PATENTED Puss 'n Boots U. S. A. on the bottom. Kitty has a bird on her hat and is festooned with floral decals and lots of heavy gold trim. This has some age/storage wear, there are areas of paint loss and also some areas with globbed on paint, some of the decals have damage & there is a bit of old glue (?) on the foot but there doesn't seem to be damage underneath it. There are no chips or cracks that I can see or feel. The creamer is about 4.25" tall x 3.5" wide and is marked PATENTED Puss 'n Boots U. S. A. on the bottom. There is some age/storage wear but I don't see or feel any chips or cracks on this. The salt & pepper shakers are about 3.5" tall x 2.25" wide. Both of them have their cork stoppers but one has slipped inside the shaker. These have some age/storage wear, I see some tiny chips on the very bottom edge on both but they all feel like they are under the glaze or are on parts that are not glazed. One cat has a tiny dot of glue or nail polish or something on the foot and one has a 1" craze line under the glaze that might be a crack but doesn't go thru (I stuck my finger inside). All pieces could use a deep cleaning. These are super cute and ready to use or display. Please see pix for more details.
