You Can use this clamp with Vintage Style Seatposts that have 7/8 inch diameter top. Most all Vintage Seat posts are this configuration and have larger bottom diameter that inserts into your bike. On Vintage Schwinns the Seat post has an 5/8" top, to use this clamp, the Seat Post can be used upside down to utilize this larger 7/8" Clamp, with this method the safety notch is important for your protection. Always make sure the Seat Clamp is firmly tight and should not move before use. This Clamp Helps you blend Vintage and New parts together on your Custom Fixie Ride or Retro Racer.
