It has electronics rather than crank mechanism. In very decent shape, with the exception of the speaker plastic; molded over metal, so I don’t think it would break but cosmetically could use some TLC. I connected the phone to my landline and it rang and I was able to answer the call and communicate. It’s a pulse, vs. the new systems of tone, so I don’t know how to dial out.
