Description: Vintage marquetry inlay wood still life or wood tray with fruit framed art 18" x 26 1/4" overall. I bought this piece at an estate sale thinking that I would make a tray of it for my lake house, but I cannot find the time. The piece is a very nice rendering of fruit in inlay wood with wooden frame. Inside frame measures 14 1/4" x 22 5/8" with frame 13/16" thick. Not too heavy or too large; tuck it in. I suggest that buyer plan to clean/treat the wood; check with a restoration company to ensure preferred/proper treatment. However, the piece is ready to hang and enjoy. Or, if preferable, it could be reframed; the actual art panel is 14 3/4" x 23." Or, like I had planned--made into a very nice serving tray. I could see it sitting on a coffee table. I do not know the artist or if it's a handmade or manufactured inlay process; probably laser cut marquetry, rather than hand cut. Regardless, it's a very pleasing and enjoyable piece. I believe that it would look great in better light; I photographed the piece on a cloudy day. The frame is modest, so I do not believe it was ever a very expensive piece. I have tried to photograph it so that you can see the condition. You will note that it is in overall very good condition, except you can see some signs of wear present in small impression dings. These are present but not a distraction. Some of the inlay is also showing some age cracks, but the inlay is staying in place; this sort of aging in natural and not considered a distraction by many an art critic. Again, the surface can easily be cleaned and stabilized as desired. Please feel free to ask questions. Many thanks.
