Vintage HC Vols. 1 & 2 - Box Set: Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Child

Description: I found these at an estate sale. It is Vols. 1 and 2 of the boxed set "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" by Julia Child and Simone Beck in hard cover format. The books are vintage from 1979 and in very good shape for 45 year old books. Please look at the pictures. 1st picture is the front of the two books with the dust covers/ jackets on and you can see at the top the empty cardboard box of the set 2nd - Back of the two books with dust covers on 3rd - This is an important picture. It shows the only real problem with the condition of both these books. At the top and bottom of the bindings, the books are showing their age. The top and bottoms of the dust covers over the bindings is somewhat frayed/ torn, very small tears, but they're there. 4th & 5th pictures - Front and back of the two books without the dust covers on - both very, very good. 6th - The other important one to look at. Again, without the dust covers, you can see that the tops and bottoms of the bindings are showing their age, small cracks and tears, again very small, but they're there. 7th - In inside pages showing the publisher and date published. 8th & 9th pictures - The books are in very good shape, but the cardboard box of the boxed set is beaten up on the bottom. On the front bottom, there's a 4 inch tear and a scuff on the corner. And picture 9 shows the bottom back, how it's two pieces of cardboard and they're separating down there. -- The books are in very good shape, but the box is beaten up on the bottom sides. Of course I don't know, but it seems that these books have been sitting in a book case for years and years. There you have it; if you have any questions, please ask.
