VINTAGE Ellesse Sweater (Circa 1976), NEVER WORN, XS/XXS

Description: This is an authentic Ellesse sweater from 1976. In that era, Ellesse was a very different, very high-end brand, purchased and worn only by professional tennis players and the wealthiest elite. In 1976, this sweater was $190, which is equivalent to $1,054 today! It has never been worn or washed, it has been tucked away for nearly 50 years. Though in excellent condition, there is a tiny imperfection at the top of the back neckline and a tiny imperfection about an inch from the neckline (see last photo). I can only assume this is from being packed and moved several times over the years. Base color is winter white (ivory), stripes are navy and edging/trim is red. It is not quite as bright white as in the photos, it is more dulled. Fabric is 100% wool. Tag size is women's 6, but clothes were cut MUCH smaller in 1976. Today, this would be considered XS or XXS. Measurements are: Armpit to armpit front side lying flat: 15 3/4" Overall length from top center of back neckline to bottom of hemline: 22" Sleeve length from top of shoulder seam to bottom of cuff: 21 3/4" NOTE: This item as well as all other items in my eBay closet come from a smoke free, pet free, scent free, perfume free and meticulously clean home.
