Description: Motiograph drive in theatre speaker. This was the last version of in car speakers made by Motiograph. It is made of Bakelite. It had a 5” speaker where most units used a 4” I think these were better sounding than most die cast speakers. Motiograph was know for making high quality projection equipment. They were based in Chicago. There history goes back to the late 1890’s. This is a fine example. I assume it was reconditioned with a new driver and cord in 1966. I believe they had ceased operations by this time. The volume control is original and is probably an A L-pad to provide a constant load to the amplifier. There are a few dead spots in it but I felt having the original part was more important on this piece. It has the proper knob as well. Thanks for looking I will pack carefully.
