Description: Vintage Computer Rated (Orange Tip) 6AQ5 Beam Power Output Vacuum Tubes,Tested!GOOD? OF COURSE! "DUD'S BELONG IN THE TRASH"! ART OBERMEYER WAS MY FATHER IN LAW. HE PASSED AWAY IN '09. HE WORKED ON RADIO'S FOR 78 YEARS. MADE OUR RADIO COLLECTION POSSIBLE. "DUD'S BELONG IN THE TRASH" WAS ONE OF HIS FAVORITE EXPRESSIONS! THE TECHNICIAN, THOUGHT DISPLAYING BURNT TUBES WAS RIDICULOUS! HE KEPT THE PARTS INVENTORY. NOW IT HAS ALL PASSED TO ME. The wife dragged me off to an Estate Sale, last week on 1/2 off day. Turns out the gentleman (RIP) was into computing wayback when. His OLD computers had already been scooped up, long before I got there. I probably could not have afforded them if they were still there. Somehow there were two plastic bags of tubes overlooked (about 120 tubes). Perhaps a third of them, are these Orange tips. Some IBM branded and with their own IBM part numbers. Just my most interesting tube FIND, in MANY years. All of the manufacture Date Codes are mid 50's to early 60's. Thought I would "Test The Water" for response and comments! EITHER WAY WE HAVE WAY TO MUCH STUFF IN THIS HOUSE. STORAGE IS FULL! A LOT OF STUFF HAS TO GO. MAKE AN OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE! THANKS FOR LOOKING AND YOUR BIDS! PLEASE CHECK BACK SOON AND OFTEN! YOU NEVER CAN TELL WHAT YOU MAY FIND HERE! IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR NEED ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, YOU MAY ASK THROUGH EBAY OR VISIT OUR STORE.P.S.: (From Reverb) They didn't really care about maintaining the print on the tubes, but IBM and Hewlett Packard computer tubes you'll see a LOT, and while a lot of them are, of course, used, they're still well within good ranges in a lot of cases. Whenever you see a painted tip, it is generally an indication that the tube is a selected, high quality version. The color is indicative of the type of industry it'd be used in, Green if I remember correctly was medical, red was computing/aviation, and I've also seen yellow tips (I have a few GE AX7's that have it currently) but not too clear on that or the orange one you've got, which could indicate communications/computing mixed (yellow & red) to indicate that it's suitable for both communications AND computing.P.S.S.: Obviously, not the original boxes! Pic 7, shows some of the boxes, that I have replaced with plain white boxes, as some of the the original tubes and Branded boxes, DID NOT MATCH! The guy obviously liked GE and Raytheon (The Company That WON WWII and still leads us into Space today.) products!
