Vintage Camark Art Pottery Matte Rose Green Overflow Vase Arts & Crafts #117

Description: Featured in this auction is a sweet little cabinet vase made by Camark Pottery of Camden, Arkansas. This handsome vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. This pottery is unmarked but most likely dates to the 1930's. The vase is identified in the Collector's Guide to Camark Pottery by David E. Gifford as shape number 117. The glaze line is called Rose Green Overflow with a matte rose underglaze and a heavier, blue-green overdrip. With this earlier example, the glazes have been unevenly applied resulting in many drips and skips where the clay color is visible on the piece. The blue-green overdrip is just blue enough that it gives this vase a purplish tone. This piece is almost 4-1/2" tall, about 3-1/4" wide at the shoulder, and almost 2" wide at the mouth. It has an ovoid shape with a collared or lipped rim. The piece is very clean but believed to have been gently used. The lower interior of the vase is unglazed in spots (skips and misses).
