Given these issues and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.*********** This vintage 1970's Cardinal Rallye GT world time diver has a glossy black "SWISS MADE" signed dial that is in poor condition. The original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a warm buttermilk hue. Both bezels, which show wear, rotate bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension. The chrome-plated case shows considerable wear and brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERPROOF SWISS MADE STAINLESS STEEL BACK 200 VACUUM TESTED." The crystal needs to be replaced. While I normally shows pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the case back on this watch is torqued too tight for me to remove. The manual wind movement runs strong, albeit slow, and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am. It does not have a semi-quickset date function. After winding the non-screwdown crown 17 full revolutions the movement lost about 2 minutes by the end of its approximate 38 hour power reserve period. Although the crown winds smoothly when it's pulled out, pushed back in and when the time is being set the dial moves and vacillates. Given this and considering that the movement runs a bit slow a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the silver bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 47 mm. A complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
