Description: Vintage Flowers in a Vase crewel embroidery on linen framed art piece, in very good condition. Lovingly created by Ellen Brown Carlin during July and August 1968. It was professionally framed a short time later, this is the original frame. It's made from heavy, carved wood. Well cared for since then, it's very clean, with no discernible loose threads or damage that I can see. The yarn and thread colors are still very vivid. There are no water spots or dirt on the linen, the color is an even off-white overall. The glass was removed recently for cleaning. The frame's been wiped clean of dust, and there is a definite 'patina' of age to the surface paint. The back side of the frame is a bit scuffed up after 55+ years, but of course you can't tell from the front side when it's hanging on the wall. Please see all photos for details.
