This sitting cat sculpture is made of a heavyweight casting stone/plaster composition with a black finish that has verdigris green highlights. The back is inscribed "AUSTIN PROD INC. 1965 ©", and is mounted to a wood base. It stands 12" tall by 4.5" wide by 6.25" deep, and weighs almost 5 lbs. Bastet was the Egyptian goddess of Joy who was embodied on earth by the cat. This cat statue is a reproduction of an ancient Egyptian temple piece cat from 663-525 BC.
