Description: This is a 1960s US Air Force officers mess dress black service cap. It is a Bancroft Pak-Cap brand in size 7 3/8. Belonged to my late father (then Captain and F-100 pilot) who purchased it new in either 1966 or 1967. Rarely worn during his service, and has sat in climate controlled comfort in his closet ever since. In very good overall condition, with no fading or insect damage of any kind, and only a small ding in the visor keeps me from calling it excellent. Material is soft and supple, bill of cap is crisp and sharp, the cover has not taken on an odd set from storage; it is just really nice. You'll have to go a ways to find a nicer one anywhere, all original not reproduction and it's ready to grace your collection! The photos are of the very cap you are bidding on, not a "similar" item.
