Description: This listing is for one vintage 1950’s Shamrock Hotel Frosted Tom Collins Glass. The Shamrock Hotel in Houston, Texas, was an iconic symbol of mid-20th-century luxury and hospitality. Opened on St. Patrick’s Day in 1949 by oil tycoon Glenn McCarthy, it was one of the largest hotels in the United States at the time, with 18 stories and over 1,100 rooms. Known for its grand opening event, which drew Hollywood stars and national attention, the Shamrock boasted upscale amenities, including multiple dining rooms, stylish bars, and a massive swimming pool famous for hosting water skiing exhibitions. In 1955, it became the Shamrock Hilton, continuing its legacy until its demolition in 1987. Today, memorabilia from the Shamrock Hotel, such as this vintage frosted Tom Collins glass, captures the glamour and spirit of a bygone era in Houston’s history. Condition: The glass is in very good vintage condition showing NO chips, cracks or other major imperfections. The only noticeable flaws are minor - a small smear in the green paint on the roof of the hotel image, and a very small black mark on the lip. Please see photos for additional details on the item’s condition. Please reach out if you have any questions and I’d be happy to help!
