Description: Authentic fourteen karat (tested) yellow gold natural opal pendant. This vintage pendant features a lovely oval shape cabochon cut opal. The stone is larger in size and averages 7/8 inch in length by just over one-half inch in width. The gem has a bluish grey body color with a very pretty palette of spectral flashes. The striking play of colors runs the gamut and definitely catch the eye as the wearer moves. Under close examination the opal does have several small pockmarks or indented cavities, near the center and slightly above center, which I believe are natural to the stone. The opal lies within a delicate wire and leaf shape gold border. A very subtle, complimentary and graceful setting. This pendant has been lightly cleaned but not polished. Shows some age-appropriate wear but overall, nice estate condition. Weighs 3.7 grams. This Australian opal pendant would make a wonderful gift or self-purchase.
