USS Indianapolis, CA35, Multi-Signed Ship Photograph, 5 Survivors, Atomic Bomb

Description: Good evening, What I am listing tonight, Is an 8 x 10 photograph, copied from a negative (not a scan from a book) autographed, hand signed on the photograph by five (5) Survivors of the July 30th sinking of the USS Indianapolis. This photograph has been autographed by " Big" Ed Brown, Seaman 1st. Class,Ensign, Harlan Twible, Michael Kuryla Jr. Coxswain, Edgar Harrell, Seagoing Marine, and Giles McCoy, Seagoing Marine Sadly all are deceased.Note, autographs may be in a different position from the one scanned. This photo has several difficult to obtain autographs- this Is a limited offering, signatures are in blue ink, my scanner has difficulty with color on this photo I personally knew each man and for almost 10 years took Michael Kuryla and his wife Lorain with us to book signings, many with "Dutch " Van Kirk. ( please see scans ) In the second group photograph, all were marines on the Ship, Edgar Is In the middle.Ever notice this picture framed and autographed by Three Survivors? the autographing of those photographs were arranged by me. Here you have more signatures and you can frame It yourself at quite a savings.I have attended all USS Indianapolis Reunions 1995-2007. The USS Indianapolis Organization had recognized me as a Historian and Photo Archivist, (see scan) I am also a member of the Second Watch Organization. I attended Reunions when very few people that were not Survivors or their families attended. I became friends with these men. I had the original photographs copied by a professional photographic laboratory,an Inter negative negative was made of each and 8 x 10 copies were made from the negative. This was the old way of doing things before scanners. It was a very expensive way to copy but worth It. It has never been my Intent to profit off this event. I went to considerable personal expense accumulating a large collection of photographs of the USS Indianapolis and traded the 8 x 10 photographs for the men's autographs. No Survivor was ever denied any amount of photos he wanted, 1 or 25 I just asked for their autographs In return. It was estimated that I gave away several thousand 8 x 10 photos. It Is hoped that through this listing and sharing this, that the memory of their sacrifices will never be forgotten. Thank you for looking, Please e-mail your questions and consider purchasing a copy of our book "The 509th Remembered" from our site with the same name.
