Description: Genuine Vietnam War Era U.S. Army M7 bayonet fighting knife with a surplus M8 scabbard, straight out of Army arsenal. The M7 has a much larger muzzle ring to go over the M16's flash hider. This example is nicely marked U.S. M7 / BOC around the blade on the cross guard. This was manufactured by Bauer Ordnance Corporation of Detroit, Michigan, the maker of the majority of Vietnam War Era M7 bayonets. The excellent condition blade has most of the original phosphate finish. There has been no sharpening done, so the blade is not extremely sharp. Blade shows minor in and out wear and finish loss from cleaning. Grips are the standard hard black phenolic type, and they are in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips. The bayonet was sealed in the bag shown in the photos, dated 1983, when I acquired it. I only opened it to take photos. Comes with an OD green fiber scabbard marked U.S. M8 / B.M. CO also included in excellent condition. This design features a fiberglass body, metal throat, and canvas frog and securing strap with a steel pistol belt hook. WWII/2 US M8 scabbard BM and Co
