Jacob Holdt, Danish photographer, came to the United States in 1970 with his camera and little money and chose to place his fate in the hands of chance, happenstance and serendipity of sorts. He traveled widely and depended on the generosity of others. At various times he was taken care of by Black Americans and then at other times he stayed with members of the Ku Klux Klan. The result was a shocking portrait of the United States that amazes even today. Itās an impressive documentary of a time and place that is now gone. The book will be carefully bubblewrapped, securely packaged in a sturdy cardboard box and shipped from New York.
