Description But you see before you is a turn of the century 1890s to early 1900s, Victorian era, shipping trunk. It has definitely seen better days as you can tell from the pictures. But honestly, that is or gives it all this charming class. I for one absolutely adore this item. It should go to someone that has time and is willing to restore it to its former glory. A majority of the fabric remains on the outside of the box still, as well as some of the stickers from its travels over the century. The latches and lock both work but there is no key for the lock. There is one copper hinge (original) inside, the other is a cable. There are no handles on the sides but their mounts are still there. There are four wheels located on the bottom to ease in moving this beast around and they, for the most part considering its age, still operate relatively well. Former owners taped paper on the interior, I'm assuming to not prevent whatever was behind it from falling on top of whatever they placed inside. I refuse to remove it and feel it should be done by it's next owner, or the one restoring it. I've had this trunk for about 5 years now and it's just taking up a lot of space. I had grand plans for it. But, life gets in the way. Hopefully this item can find somebody else that wants to put in the effort I was hoping to do.
