This model is the namesake of the C-47 Skytrain, a WW2 military transport built from the civilian DC-3 aircraft. Its construction was contracted by the US Army Airforce, and the first Skytrain took to the skies in back in 1941. This series was initially launched as the “No-Name” watches, since Tockr was unsure of what to call it. A naming contest was held on aBlogtoWatch, and Joseph Welke suggested “Skytrain” as the winning selection. Since the C-47 Skytrain aircraft is central to the Tockr brand story, it was the perfect fit. An effortless integration, for a watch that is effortlessly sophisticated.
