Description: The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest HemingwayFirst printing ("A" & Seal) in an original dust jacket Publisher & Year: New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1952-Edition: First edition, first printing, with the "A" and seal on the copyright page. The original dust jacket is price clipped, but still identifiable as the correct version, as it lacks the book club statements.-Description: Publisher's light blue cloth lettered in silver gilt, blind embossed front board, 8.25" x 5.5", 140 pp. Hinges and binding tight. Staining to the front board. The gilt remains bright. Clean pages without writing and underlining, but with staining in the lower margin that runs throughout the length of the book. The original price-clipped jacket has a little loss at the tips and ends of the spine, a touch of splitting at the joints, very faint evidence of erased pencil marks on the lower right portion of the rear panel, and general rubbing. Other faults shown in the pictures.-“Every day is a new day. It is better to be lucky. But I would rather be exact. Then when luck comes you are ready.”― Ernest Hemingway, The Old Man and the Sea-Inventory ID: 311 - 134 - 880
