Description: Stunning 1870's Maine "Sunflower" Antique Quilt, Exceptional Color + Handwork in Original Condition Wonderful period fabrics and wheel star like pattern make a eye dazzling statement. It measures 83" wide and 84" long with cutaways for a poster bed. Fine workmanship, all hand sewn. Pieced, appliqued, with overall quilting in outlines, circles and straight stitching. Quilting is about 9 per inch, within and around the piecing. Backed and edged with white cotton, all hand stitched. Batting is thin. Almost nothing to report. Condition is original and very good. Some backside light staining. Found recently here in Maine. This wonderful early quilt is an unusual find! All offers considered.
