It is best to measure your wire diameter in millimeters, rather than use the MCM wire size. This is because the insulation thickness varies materially from one wire manufacturer to the next. It is much better to oversize your CT than to undersize it. Our 25mm Solid Core CT is very compact for it's current rating(400A). They are designed to be used in conjunction with our Omnimeter line of kWh meters. All of our current transformers have an accuracy class of 0.1 (+/- 0.1% accurate). These CTs have 15,037 internal turns, creating a 26.6mA output at 400 amps. Use these CTs for any system from under 1/4 amp to 400 amps. Use 1 CT for 120 volt single phase North American, or 230 volt 2-wire foreign systems Use 2 CTs for 120/240 volt single phase systems Use 2 CTs for 3-phase 3-wire systems (no neutral) Use 3 CTs for 3-phase 4-wire systems Wires coming from the CTs are 2 meters in length. They can be extended but this may affect accuracy. These CTs have received UL Approval for use in combination with our UL listed meters to be a complete UL Listed installation. Each CT has a unique serial number, is individually tested, and indicates the correct orientation of the CT in relation to the load of the electrical system being metered.
