Description: Vintage United States American Flag Tack Pin has a screw attachment to hold. Has "Preparedness" in lettering below the flag. When checking on it's age I found this pin, same except the back was different (had a hinged clasp). Information that was given: "Created near the eve of U.S. entry into WWl when "Preparedness" became a vital concern to the country as German U-boats continued sinking ships, including some American vessels suspected of carrying war material to the allied countries".
