These “Sketches in Australia” scenes include: “Hunting the Emu” (p.348) “Kangaroo Hunt” (p.349) “Coo-oo-oo-ee” (Aboriginal theme, p.352) “Dingoes Prowling Round the Sheepfold” (p.352) “Snake-Hunting” (Aboriginal theme, p.353) “The Bee-Hunters” (Aboriginal theme, p.353) “Native Dance” (Aboriginal theme, p.356) This newspaper issue also includes a range of other news and illustrations including “The Volunteer Rifle Match Between Australia and England” (image on p.333); the “Royal Marriage Festival at Christchurch, New Zealand” (article and image on p.356); and “International Rifle-Match. England Versus Australia” (article on p.342). This original 1863 newspaper issue is in very good condition overall for its age and will be sent in a large stiff mailer (45cm x 33cm) with an extra sheet of thick cardboard to protect.
