They can be used with the handles or you can tuck the handles inside the bag and just use them with the drawstrings. Bag measures 8 inches wide x 8.5 inches high in the center. The useable space is below the drawstring and it is ample because of the 2 inch gusset that makes the bag very big. 8 inches wide x 6 inches high x 2 inches thick. It will fit every size of tarot card I have seen including the Cosmic Tarot and large Crowley Thoth Deck, and still leave a room for a spread clothe, crystals, rune stones and other little things you might use to bless your table or space. These are lovely bags that can even be used as a purse, great to carry special items, like crystals, massage wands, runes, tuning forks, small books, etc. (The cards inside the bag or on table in the photos are to help you see the size of the bag only, they are not part of this listing) The ColorsSilk colors cannot be easily duplicated on your computer monitor. These bags are beautiful, the silk sheen looks different in different light, sometimes darker, sometimes lighter. I have a few of most of the colors but none are identical. WashingSpot cleaning is best. I have never tried to wash one of these bags, so I cannot actually advise.
