Description: New CD, Polish release "Great Romantic" of the big beat era - the soul of the Czerwone Gitary band, a charismatic soloist, author of popular film music, composer of the greatest Polish hits of the past few decades. Seweryn Krajewski (born 1947) began his professional career in music in the Stave group in Gdańsk. When Krzysztof Klenczon joined the formation, it transformed into Czerwone Gitary. It was January 1965 - for the next five years, the Red Guitars were the most popular group of the Polish youth scene, using the slogan: "We play and sing the loudest in Poland!". Less than a year after its founding, the group won the first place in the plebiscite of the prestigious Jazz monthly in the category of vocal-instrumental ensembles, and a year later it repeated this success. Red Guitars have won numerous awards, incl. at subsequent Opole festivals (where in 1967 the Polish Jazz Federation awarded Seweryn Krajewski a prize for composition). There was also the award of the most important American trade magazine, Billboard (in 1969) and the "Golden Microphone" of the American Polish community for the "most popular Polish performer". The following Red Gitar albums achieved the "Gold Record" status and broke sales records. The group's repertoire was made up of both equal leaders - Seweryn Krajewski and Krzysztof Klenczon. The former was usually identified with the "romantic" face of the band (Anna Maria), but he was also the author of many rock'n'roll hits, incl. Keep your nose open and Such pretty eyes. After the departure of Krzysztof Klenczon in 1970, Seweryn Krajewski reigned supreme in Czerwony Gitarach. During the following years of the band's existence, he composed such hits as Still Rain, Płoną Mountains, Burning Forests, Got a Good Day, The Only Word - You, Pirate Harbor, Third Love - Żagle, Heaven from My Side or Sunrise at the Horse Stable. He was also the author of the real "megahits": We will not rest and the Remedy. The last song (also known as Wsiąść do trainu) - but performed by Maryla Rodowicz - was recognized in the Polish Radio's poll as "the hit of the 40th anniversary". At the end of the 1970s, Seweryn Krajewski decided to devote himself mainly to composing. He disbanded the Czerwone Gitary band (reactivated in the early 90's for a few enthusiastically received concert tours) and began the second stage of his career - as a soloist. Since then, he has also written more and more for other artists (it is worth recalling that his song Gondolierzy znad Wisły performed by Irena Jarocka won a distinction at the Opole festival in 1968). The most artistically fruitful collaboration between Seweryn Krajewski and Maryla Rodowicz, for whom he wrote the hit song, Long Live the Ball, awarded at the World Song Festival in Los Angeles (1984) and, among others, I am lying under a pear tree (Peace of mind), Pigeons song or Madiatka is dancing. He also recorded romantic duets with her: Lullaby for "Okruszek", Human Talking, Weather for Happiness. Seweryn Krajewski a soloist - a lyrical vocalist, great guitarist, arranger and versatile musician who has been working exclusively in his own home studio since the early 1980s - he has had a close and lasting love affair with film behind him. It was mainly from the soundtracks composed by him that the next great hits came: Uciekaj My Heart (a song inspired by the music for the TV series "Jan Heart"), Baw me (the feature film "Oh, Karol") or Waiting for this one moment (from a loud picture Marek Piwowski's "The Abduction of Agata"). He composed only texts by the best authors, incl. Agnieszka Osiecka, Magda Czapińska and Jacek Cygan. He was Agnieszka Osiecka's favorite composer - their joint project "Strofki na gitarę" (ballads for voice with guitar) resulted in timeless recordings, today considered to be the pearls of Polish popular music.Our collection - showing the artist in various instrumental configurations - also includes newer works, incl. The fruit of the artistic activity of Seweryn Krajewski in the recent period are, among others albums "I'm" (2003) and "Jak jest się" (2011).
