Description: Pre-1908 undivided back postcard shows a big chair made by P. Derby & Company, touting Gardner, Massachusetts as the Largest Chair Town in the World. A person stands at the left of the chair to give a sense of scale. Made as a float for the Labor Day Parade, it was moved to the lawn at Union Station. Printing on front notes statistics of the chair and the town, citing its 1905 population as 12,012 and its 18 chair factories. "Simply impossible to mention all the good things about Gardner - on a Post Card." Postmarked 1906; good condition with some surface wear and corner creasing. Payment is due within 10 days of purchase. eBay Store: Bonnpon Postcards and Gifts Member, International Federation of Postcard Dealers Sunshine and Tropical Post Card Clubs Our items are from a smoke-free, pet-free home.
