Description: ULTRA RARE RADIOMETER DOSIMETER RK-67 1968 GEIGER COUNTER. FULLY WORKING!!!!! Working condition. Comes with adapter for AA batteries due to lack of original batteries that are no longer in use. Original electrolytic capacitors are often very faulty and have been replaced to extend life of the device. RK-67 is widely known radiometer for it's measuring range and compact diameters. This specific radiometer is ultra rare, due to it's place of production. Majority of RK-67 radiometer were made by well-known company POLON. The piece listed on auction was made by BUTJ -"Biuro Urzdze Techniki Jdrowej". That company existed in 70s and was later replaced by POLON, but it's still incredibly important for history of Polish dosimetry. Production in BUTJ was rather in small amounts, and that's why this specific RK-67 is so important. "RK" in name stands for "radiometr kieszonkowy" - pocket radiometer - and 67 is year of project - 1967. This RK-67 no. 0602 was produced in year 1968, which is probably first year of production ever. This radiometer uses well known STS-5 Geiger tube and displays reading on microamper meter which is also used in DP-66. Main switch is located in the centre of front plate of the radiometer. RADIOMETER ONLY FUNCTIONS IF BUTTON "P" IS PRESSED. The button was designed to save battery and extend its live. The switch has following positions: 1. W- OFF 2. K - battery check Measuring ranges: 3. 250mR/h - 2500uSv/h 4. 25mR/h - 250 uSv/h 5. 5mR/h - 50uSv/h 6. 1mR/h - 10uSv/h Thanks to 4 different ranges radiometer is sensitive to natural background radioactivity and also is able to measure higher amounts of radiation
