Description: eBay Listing Template r1 RARE 2 1/2" BACKSET OF THE SARGENT 6344 ENTRY MORTISE LOCK - REMANUFACTURED with KEY (20680) Vintage: Sargent #6344 keyed entry door lock, circa 1900-1920, with mortise lock clearly marked Sargent & Co. Easy Spring, featured in the 1910 catalog (see pic). Heavy steel faceplate, completely restored! Beautiful functioning lock. THE MORTISE: FACEPLATE MEASUREMENTS: Heavy steel face plate, shows some scratches and light pitting from age, but in in excellent condition, measures 6 7/8" by 1" by 1/8" thick. SCREWS: Screws are on 6 1/4" centers. BOX MEASUREMENTS: Box is 3 3/8" deep from the front edge of the faceplate to the back of the black box. It is 4 3/4" top to bottom. BACKSET: (the distance from the front edge of the front plate to the center of the knob post hole) on this one is 2 1/2". DROP: (the distance from the center of the knob post hole down to the center of the round portion of key slot is also 2 7/8". KNOB POST: Designed for a 5/16" two piece split pivot knob post.
