American Artist William Newport (Goode) (1908-1999), artist, craftsman, and educator, was born August 16, 1908 in Germantown, Philadelphia. He briefly attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), studying under Pennsylvania impressionist Daniel Garber and noted academician Joseph Thurman Pearson, Jr., before opening his own studio on Germantown Avenue in 1929.Newport was well know for his oil paintings of his grandfather's barn, farmhouse and pastoral scenes. William Newport was lived in Oklahoma City during the early 1920's and loved to paint on both plywood and canvas. There are only 12 paintings that are known to exist painted during 1921-1924 on his Grandfather's farmhouse FRAME IS IN POOR CONDITION. DON’T THINK IT WILL SURVIVE SHIPPING SO WILL SHIP WITHOUT FRAME. BOUGHT IT ALONG WITH OTHER PAINTINGS AT AN ESTATE SALE. WILL BE LISTING THEM.
