Description: Vintage 2.65 Lb. True Temper Kelly Works Double Bit Axe Head With Phantom Bevels. Shows normal signs of age and previous wear including some loss to the makers markings. It is in good solid condition and would certainly make someone a nice little user. The unique feature to this head is the Clinton-Simpson Stamp ( it is quite worn also). My research indicates the Clifton-Simpson Trade name began in the 1920s-and dissolved in 1964. Their Hardware store that would of sold this axe was located in Waco TX, and in business from 1953-1964. (I always recommend doing your own research as well). I can't find another like it, and it seems anything with a Clifton-Simpson Hardware stamp is quite rare, so if you are a collector of rare axes, I believe this would make a nice addition to your collection, or again a nice user as well.
