Description: Attention Collectors!!! You are bidding on a rare antique hardcover book titled Herbert's Poems. With The Life of the Author. By Izaak Walton. Book was printed in London for the Society For Promoting Christian Knowledge. The book was sold at the Depository, Great Queen Street, Lincoln's Inn Fields, 1837. This book had very limited availability and was not available to all book shops, just at the Depository, thus, making it quite a rare book. The book is fully bound in black leather with gold titling on spine and gold ruling on covers! The spine has five raised bands. The covers are firmly attached with no cracking or splitting of hinges. All pages are tightly bound (212 pages). There is foxing to the first and last few pages. The rest of the book has almost no foxing. Pages have decorative edge on all three sides. Has decorative endpages. Book is in overall very good condition. Of added interest, there is a previous owner inscription on first blank page that reads as follows: "Mr Blundenfield (not sure of the spelling) From his Affectionate Brother John who died at Calcutta Nov 29th, 1845." This is a terrific book to add to a collection! Great gift idea! (Inventory: 309-L) Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter
