Description: Small but heavy old cast iron bookends, very nice, with sharper, deeper detail than is common. 4” x 1 ½”, and 4” tall galleons under full sail are supported on watery textured bases. Original gold paint on all surfaces, with a little artificial green patina (nice touch); old black felt on the bases is likely a replacement. Unsigned. These are a nice size, not obtrusive, fit for a desk, maybe, or bedside table. For whatever reason, the surfaces are very slightly different shades of color, which of course would not be apparent when used at opposite ends of a row of books. Excellent condition; no dents, cracks, corrosion, repair, or loss of detail. *Feel free to ignore any Item Specific that seems especially silly, irrelevant, inappropriate, or redundant. eBay frequently adds things without consulting the seller, and which I don’t always catch.
