Description: PL-518::;; Direct drive and automatic return operation..on board is a new Audio Technica VM95C cartridge ….this combination sounds very good—should you choose to do so, you can easily upgrade the stylus at a later date. I’m tracking the cartridge at 1.75 grams. I disassembled this machine…did a deep cleaning.. removed/replaced old grease…cleaned the pot and switches…added fresh dampening oil…lubricated the spindle. Both speeds dial in nicely…..cueing is soft…sound is clean. The base has been wrapped in Bubinga real wood veneer which was treated with Danish Oil followed by several coats of satin polyurethane. There are a few mistakes here and there but it’s very beautiful wood. The metalwork is excellent with minimal surface fading and oxidation (see pic). The “ears” on the tonearm clip are broken off but the clip works fine. The new, aftermarket cover is new brought to you by JnB Audio. The platter is very good with some oxidation …the mat is soft and pliable. I replaced the feet with solid rubber aftermarket feet which are now adjustable. Please check the photos for condition. Now….if you’re looking for a one-off attractive auto return player…that comes ready to rock…..new cartridge, cover and feet ….take a look here. I use double walled heavy duty boxes reinforced with foam board in the corners. Believe me when I say I don’t want transit damage more than you don’t. Due to the age of this device and the uncertain nature of vintage electronics this device is being sold AS IS with no returns. This is NOT a new machine...as such, it does not come with any guarantee implied or written. This machine will come partially disassembled. You will need to mount the platter—and the drive belt in belt drive machines—the counterweight..and in some cases the anti-skate weight. DO NOT operate the machine without first properly balancing and setting the appropriate tracking weight.
