Description: New Pair of Nanduti Spider Web Embroidery Doilies This is a set of two spider web embroidered doilies purchased new in Paraguay in 2023. Known as "Nanduti" in Paraguay, the traditional practice of creating them dates back to the Spaniards. Nanduti is the Guarani Indian word for spider web. The embroidery method used is to do needle work on a stretched fabric, and when the design is finished, the cloth is cut away, leaving a spider web like finished product. I purchased the two doilies in Paraguay last year, and they have never been used or displayed. The dimension of the smaller doily is 7 1/4 inches in diameter. The larger doily is 12 1/2 inches in diameter. The items can be used like a traditional doily, or perhaps framed as I have done with others I purchased. The doilies are both brilliant in red, white and blue colors. Free Shipping will be provided by USPS Ground Advantage. Photos are of the actual 2 pieces that you will receive.
