Description: Up for sale is this absolutely stunning original US WWII Tankers Shoulder Holster for a .45 cal 1911 pistol. Holster shows normal age and wear and has that “been there” look to it. The leather is in great shape overall and is still very supple. The strap is also in great shape but is known to slip out of the D-Ring from time to time due to use over the years. The brass shows a wonderful patina throughout. The holster is properly stamped U.S. showing that it is not for civilian use and is maker marked ENGER KRESS which was the main manufacturer of these types of holsters. Shoulder holsters were issued to officers in both the US Army Air Corps and Tank Corps. This particular holster was an original friend of the veteran acquisition who told me his friend used to say it was easier to wear the shoulder holster rather than the belt holster when moving throughout the tank. The back of the holster also has some inscription by the soldier although I’m not sure as to what it means. Also it looks to be dated 3/41. Not 100 percent sure of the date since these holster didn’t officially come into use until 42. Overall this is a very nice and rare holster that any collector would love to have. It’s priced to sell fast so don’t miss out!
