Description: From the estate of director CHARLES LANG with estate service certificate of authenticity, this is an original movie script for the 20th Century Fox feature film titled MADISON AVENUE. It bears the printed date September 28, 1960 on the cover which also has printed "revised second draft screenplay." However, on the title page it is stated "Final October 12, 1960." Screenplay by NORMAN CORWIN and FRANK FENTON. Adapted from the novel THE BUILD-UP BOYS by Jeremy Kirk. Note: The published film credits are for Norman Corwin and Richard P. Powell, not Frank Fenton. Powell's pseudonym was Jeremy Kirk, author of the novel. The screenplay runs 129 pages. Most of the pages are printed on light green paper but a number of rewrite pages dated 10-25-60 are printed on blue paper. There are several sequences in the first third of the script which are crossed out vertically in red pen and were apparently not going to be filmed. The sequences are still easy to read. The film was directed by H. BRUCE HUMBERSTONE, so why Mr. Lang had this copy is unclear. Perhaps he had some uncredited involvement or was at one time considering directing it. This was a CinemaScope drama which was released in 1961 and starred, DANA ANDREWS, ELEANOR PARKER, JEANNE CRAIN and EDDIE ALBERT.
