Description: This is an original 8x10 publicity photo of Billy Ward and his Dominoes, including "Mr. Excitement" himself, Jackie Wilson. Autographed by all members at that time in pen (circa 1953 - 1957). I believe it to be in great condition for its age. I acquired this photo in a photo album from a location in Mobile, Alabama. It was full of 8x10 photos of entertainers from the same time frame. Most are autographed and personalized to "Frederick and Tanya," "Tanya," or "Tanya Jr." From reading the Autographs and researching online a little, it appears that Frederick and Tanya were possibly in showbiz themselves (Dancers maybe, because of Billy Ward stating that they were the " essence of art in motion"). or employees at the same club/showroom where the others played. Reference is made in at least one autograph to a place called Monticello. Another, to "the Palace," I think that Tanya is possibly the lady standing next to Sammy Davis Jr. in one of the photos. Other photos in the album are of magicians, ventriloquist, showgirls, strippers, comedians, band leaders, vaudeville, etc. Between 1953 and 1957, Billy Ward and his Dominoes played in several places, which included "The Band Box" and "The Apollo" in NY. "The Sahara" in Las Vegas, California, Washington DC, and others. The dates of the other photos range from between 1950 and the early 60's. This listing is for the autographed photo of Billy Ward and his Dominoes in the frame ONLY. I purchased the frame separately to display it better.
