Description: A 3 medallion stoneware pullen jug from Siegburg. Old collection sticker to the base dating this to 1525-1550, I would say it’s more likely the 3rd quarter of the 16th century. I have the book referenced in the sticker, I’ll add a photo of the page if I can find it. From the collection of the British poet Anthony Thwaite, who was a passionate writer and collector of early German stoneware. Some firing faults. Glaze pooling to one side. Little split in the medallion. Split near the top of the handle. Surface wear, including chipping and scratches. Some cracks and repair to the top on the back side. Please check photos carefully.
