Description: container transportation is the lifeblood of the current Japan Rail freight service; following wwii and the economic miracle of recovery in japan, Japanese rail engineers introduced a succession of container car designs in an attempt to speed up the service....the koki106 series was introduced in 1997 and currently is the penultimate in the grouping .....1162 wagons were produced primarily by kawasaki and nippon sharyo; they remain in service as of this listing.......the containers with this set are u47as bearing nippon express livery.... i acquired this set as part of a multi-set purchase from a very large model reseller who described the condition of the group as various: some new, some used........this a1754 model was part of the former - unused - group.....the model set arrived in factory new condition - with the factory sealed shrink wrap still encasing the outer master paperboard packaging...... this set has an unusual factory equipped array of couplers.......one end of each wagon has knuckle (non-functioning, i believe) coupler, and the other end displays a rapido.....the concept is tying the 2 wagon together with the knuckles and using the rapidos to connect front end and back end to other rolling stock......2 accessory provided additional rapidos can be installed to feature a more traditional japanese manufactured coupler array....the only other set accessories are 2 red reflectors for the end of 1 of the wagons - when installing, be aware the the pin has 2 steps - one step inserts into the mounting hole and one serves as a standoff for the reflector........
