Description: On auction probably the BEST Japanese Magazine EVER donefor the 1st Sony's PSX TheOFFICIAL PLAYSTATION MAGAZINE JAPAN COLLECTION I kept almost all my +25 yrs' Japanese Magazines that I used to receive monthly from Japan from fellow japanese editors and from Japanese Companies to make previews or articles about their latest games (or work in progress titles at the time). Something that - incredibily - I still do today while all the collegues of my and other magazines quitted soon as their publishers closed .( Btw.. Playstation Magazine and DreamCast Fan for those who are not familiar with the Japanese market (before was named 'Saturn Fan') were the Top Notch of the 90s for the real Hardcore gamers in Japan. (i.e. in few words: the EGM of Japan ,) While Famitsu was the 'casual-player' magazine (the cost was also 1/3), so no big deal or scoop back then. As you can imagine, at the time the real reason to chase these Magazines was to have access to all the latest news from Japan on upcoming titles (Ex: Bio Hazard, Tekken, Dino Crisis, FF, etc..) BUT were DAMNLY difficult to find(most of the editors of the time will remember this odd thing because Internet was yet at the beginning, and everything was still on paper) and about Consoles..was strictly in Japanese! Thanks to these I was able to get the latest news about ALL the PSX production. These Magazines were 100% about PSX, NOthing else (no sega, no nintendo, no handhelds), and used to cover ONLY the Japanese production with detailed articles of EACH game (even the unrelease projects, titles and vaporware productions). Not to mention interviews to unknown (back then) game designers and producers as Hideo Kojima.. A Magazine that give an overall knowledge of that era who still lives on today! Because - talking with other editors or Sony Fanboys - most yet do not know most of the obscure PSX titles or productions mentioned inside, because (logically) were available nowhere else than in Japan! And our western magazines had no info about them, so nobody knew anything. Some Examples Only this Dedicated magazine for PSX was the source. We are talking about the most important and Most CompleteMagazine published in Japan (the motherland of Sony) dedicated for the ONE and ONLY 1st PLAYSTATION. THEY ARE 42 NUMBERS,EACH NUMBER IS AROUND 145 PAGESSO an OVERALL of 6000 PAGES! It is a MASSIVE quantity of material (around 50 KGS of weight) and covers from the end of the 1996 (i.e. when the PSX took over the Saturn, and for which the Magazines (sadly..) required more attention only to SONY's production to the REALLY End of the 90s (i.e. when Kutaragi, the father of the Playstation showed up the 'Emotion Engine chip - core of the PS2) Photo Specific mention must be given also to QUALITY of the +6000 pages(inside: articles there were amazing scrathes, settei and many graphic materials bonus attached, available nowhere else nor even inside the instructions or official guide books) Some Examples In prestine/ NOS conditions (smoke free) This must be underlined because 'Playstation Magazine' (differently from Dreamcast fan) was published with the glueso it has been always pretty critical to open widely without the risk to ruin it. All the numbers here available (that include the highest production momentum 96~99) are like new/ barely opened, just to compile break news and/or some deep inside of games with particolar hype in the west (ex: Bio Hazard, Dino Crisis, FF) then stored in a closet (no sunlight) to preserve these to nowadays.
