Description: LOT# 639Q. VINTAGE WATERMAN 'S 52 1/2V FOUNTAIN PEN + MECH. PENCIL. FLEX. SPECIAL ORDER? Serviced not long ago. I have not seen a Waterman's 52 1/2V like this one before! I do not know if this set is a special order? prototype? or else.... 9ct gold bands, Made In USA imprint on the fountain pen cap, and the strangest thing is that the nib is smaller than the regular #2 Waterman's nib (please see the last 3 photos for the size comparison). The nib holder is also narrower at the nib end to accommodate the nib. The nib holder and the pen body are fit together and look matching. This fountain pen and mechanical pencil set is in great condition. Each has 9 ct gold band. They both still have good imprints and color. No chip or crack. Both fountain pen and pencil have normal wear signs. Pencil seems working but I don't have the lead to test it. The pictures show the actual item. Please evaluate the condition yourself. The last 3 photos are for the nib size comparison to another regular black hard rubber Waterman's 52 1/2V fountain pen. The black hard rubber Waterman's 52 1/2V fountain pen IS NOT INCLUDED in this auction. The nib is flexible (6 in Score). The nib could go from F-M (0.7 mm) for normal writing, and flex to BBB (1.6 mm). My nib gradings: On the scale from 1 to 10 score, which 1 is firm, 10 is Wet Noddle.Score 1: Firm - no flex at allScore 2: Tines could spread a little, but not Semi Flex. Score 3: Semi Flex - flex with a good amount of pressure, goes up 1 or 2 line variation sizes (ex: F to M or B)Score 4: Between Semi Flex and Flexible Score 5: Flexible - needs some pressure to flex, goes up 2 or 3+ line variation sizes (ex: F to B or BB, BBB)Score 6: Between Flexible and Very Flexible Score 7: Very Flexible - small amount of pressure. Nib must has some soft feel, responsive, 3+ line variation sizes different when flex.Score 8: Between Very Flex and Super Flex Score 9: Super Flex, very close to Wet Noodle.Score 10: Wet Noodle - Flex with little pressure effort, very soft feel, very responsive, 3 or more line variation sizes different when flex.
