KENNETH JAY LANE (KJL) MATTE GOLD FINISH FAUX PEARL & ONYX PIN/PENDANT

Description: KENNETH JAY LANE 1932-2017. He was a prolific jewelry designer who attended the RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL OF DESIGN here in Providence R.I. back in the 60s. He was best known for his amazing, original designs utilizing faux gems. The Duchess of Windsor "put him on the map" by commissioning one of a kind pieces and then sharing him with her inner circle. Jacqueline Kennedy as well as Barbara Bush wore his original designs at the inaugural balls. Barbara Bush's famous pearls were by LANE. He became quite a fixture at QVC (home shopping network) for years. For your consideration today is classic KJL. This large brooch is done with lots of detail including the beautiful matte gold finish. As you can see there are 5 faux pearls as well as a larger faux black onyx dead center. The brooch is also a pendant with a large hidden bale that can accommodate a thick chain or cord. The piece measures approximately 2.75" x 2.75" and weighs in at a substantial 35 grams - well over one full ounce of metal. The back is clean and the hallmark KJL can be seen on the reverse as well.
