Kay Unmarked Jumbo Style Flat Top Acoustic Guitar Custom Vintage 1950s X-Braced

Description: This is a vintage 1950s - 1960s unmarked Kay Jumbo Flat Top Acoustic Guitar. This is an impressively big guitar with a 17 1/4" lower bout width and nearly a 42" length. Please take a look at the size comparison between the classical acoustic guitar (classical acoustic is not included in the sale of this guitar) next to this one in one of the pictures. Its narrow nut and tight radius D-shaped neck make it a player's guitar. I would consider this to be a custom guitar, because it has been modified / customized including a block inlayed fingerboard, modified head stock, X-bracing, side sound port, enhanced binding along the neck edge and on the back, and refinished back and sides. This guitar is probably a K22 or K23. The guitar features a solid spruce top, laminated mahogany sides, and possibly a solid mahogany back. It also has a 5-piece neck with very good action and playability. It sounds full, big, warm and deep. There are minor blemishes here and there, which do not detract from its vibe or overall appearance. The neck bindings do not match on both sides, indicating that one was replaced at some point. There are a couple top board cracks that have been repaired. The block inlay on the 15th fret is missing a tiny piece. There is a nick at the top of the head stock, and several small nicks along the fingerboard binding edge. There may have been a trapeze tailpiece on here at one point, and a small hole is plugged on the bottom bout side likely for a strap button.
