ABOUT RED JASPER Jasper is often used for balancing the subtle bodies and aligning the Chakras.It is a specific for the root chakra. Many Native American cultures consider Red Jasper to symbolize the blood of the Earth, and this stone is full of grounding Earth energy. A gentle stone, Red Jasper works slowly but surely, and is a good stone to ground anyone overly sensitive to crystalline energy. ABOUT THE KARUNA SYMBOLS Karuna is a Sanskrit word that is used in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Zen. It is translated as any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others. It may literally be translated as “compassionate action.” It is a logical extension of the idea of Oneness. Karuna must be accompanied by parjna (wisdom) in order to have the right effect. The symbols were channeled by several Reiki masters including Marcy Miller, Kellie-Ray Marine, Pat Courtney, Catherine Mills Bellamont, and Marla Abraham. Rand used the symbols and found them to have value, but felt that they had greater potential than had previously been accessed. Meditation on them led him to develop the attunement process and to call the new system Karuna Reiki. Some of the symbols used in Karuna Reiki are used in other systems, but they do not have the same effectiveness or healing energies as in the Karuna system. Karuna Reiki energy is different from Usui Reiki, and most find Karuna to be more powerful.
