Description: Where the Streetcar Stops by Chris Wilborn, Wilborn & Associates Photographers (1991). Brown hardcover with gilt lettering and DJ (9x11”), 116 pgs, about 200 b&w ils/photographs . ….no ISBN A selection of historic photographs taken by two Kansas City, Missouri, photography firms: Tyler & Murphy Photographers and Anderson Photographers. These firms date from 1914. All the photos have captions. The author, a photographer by trade, points out that he did the best he could for describing the factual elements, but a qualified historian could add context. I think the photos speak for themselves. There are no ‘Chapters” per se, but one can see there are groupings like: Sports (baseball, football, races at the Speedway…), businesses and their employees, railcars and automobiles, military, political, parades and other celebrations, stockyards.... There are aerial views, panoramic views and street scenes, groups of people. Time period looks to be around 1914 through the late 1930s. Binding tight and square. There's a red marking on the front end paper (see last pic), everything else in the book is clean. Hardcovers show slight signs of wear in places. DJ shows some surface/edge creasing/curling with a few very small tears on its edges. Please see the pictures for more about what's in this book, and the condition of this copy. ► We are thinning contents of our smoke-free, pet-free home. Books will be listed, plus toys including CCG and trading cards, fabric/wallpaper sample books, jigsaw puzzles, jewelry, household items and maybe some of my fishing and workshop stuff.
